SINGAPORE : The Public Utilities Board has a new tagline --
"Water for All: Conserve, Value, Enjoy".
Unveiling the tagline on Monday, Minister for the Environment and
Water Resources, Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, says it embodies the PUB's new
approach to involve the people as well as the private and public
sectors in the management of Singapore's water resources.
"Water For All" encapsulates PUB's role in making certain that
Singapore's four sources of water -- water from local catchments,
imported water, NEWater and desalinated water -- never run
dry.
"Conserve, Value, Enjoy" conveys the critical dimensions of
Singapore's water management strategy.
Dr Yaacob says to provide water for all, every Singaporean should
play his or her part to conserve water, keep Singapore's water
catchments clean, and build a closer relationship with water
through enjoying its water resources.
If everyone does this, Singaporeans can and will have sufficient
water for all uses -- for living, for life, for industry.
Dr Yaacob was speaking at a ceremony to celebrate the completion of
tunnelling works for the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System. - CNA
